RockTenn and Smurfit-Stone announce early termination of HSR waiting period

RockTenn and Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation announced that the Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 in connection with the previously announced acquisition of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation by RockTenn.

The transaction remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including approval by the stockholders of both companies.
