Nov 25, 2003. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Irkutsk region prepared the final copy the bill on new forestry rent rates, Sybirskie Novosti-daily reported. The decision was taken during the meeting of the committee on legislation, natural resources, environment and agriculture of Irkutsk-region legislative body Tuesday. The bill should be passed at the next session in order to come in force on January, 1 2004, Irkutsk-administration deputy-chief Larisa Zabrodskaya said. The new growth rate envisaged in the bill is between 1,37 - 2. The forestries located near residential areas will be more expensive for rent. Forestries located at 60-80 km distance from residential areas will be cheaper for rent, due to the lack of roads and infrastructure on the territories. The new bill envisages the decline of rent rate in case a timber company operating in a particular district provides building for social needs of both its workers and local residents.
