Apr 01, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Södra has reduced the price of soft pulpwood by SEK 15 ($1.8) per cubic metre. The new price following the reduction will be SEK 260 ($31.7) per cubic metre, as the company informed Lesprom Network. Prices for hard pulpwood have been reduced by SEK 40–45 ($4.9-5.5) per cubic metre depending on the range. The new prices are SEK 275 ($33.5) for cleanly sorted birch pulpwood, SEK 240 ($29.2) per cubic metre for birch and SEK 200 ($24.4) per cubic metre for other hard pulpwood. Sawlog prices remain unchanged until further notice. The decision is a result of the continued imbalance on the wood market with large inventories and limited demand for pulpwood.
