Sep 22, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Södra to increase its long-fibre and short-fibre pulp prices, reflecting strong market conditions, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The price of bleached softwood pulp will rise by $30 to $760 per tonne. Bleached hardwood pulp is being raised by $50 to $650 per tonne. The new prices are effective from 1 October. “Our inventories are low and international inventory statistics reflect a similar situation for the global pulp market as a whole. Meanwhile, Asian demand continues to be strong,” said Ulf Edman, President of Södra Cell International.
