With effect from, March 12, 2013, Neil Emsley is appointed managing director of SCA Timber Supply in the UK, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, Neil first joined SCA Timber Supply as Operations Director in 2007, rising to become Group Operations Director responsible for SCA’s three UK timber business locations. Neil Emsley originally joined SCA from a background in retail brand FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods). Mr Emsley has since been closely involved in the operational development of SCA Timber Supply internationally, helping establish a strong base for its retail and builders merchant market operations across Scandinavia, France and Britain. ‟Resource efficiency, whether in timber, energy or transport, is key to operational efficiency and thus to the service levels and carbon reductions we can deliver to SCA Timber Supply’s customers going forward,” Neil Emsley comments. ‟Putting these at the heart of our business creates a stable base for expanding further SCA Timber Supply’s share of the retail and builders’ merchant markets, to which we are firmly committed in the UK and elsewhere.” Mr Emsley will be supported on the UK board of SCA Timber Supply by commercial director Stephen King, international finance director Alan Mills, and chairman Anders Ek, who is also president of SCA Timber Supply.
