Schweighofer's new BEAM-plant in Radauti, Romania, began operation
After the test period the new Schweighofer gluelam plant received the necessary JAS certificate (Japan Agriculture Standard) and went into operation in February. 100,000 cubic metres JAS certified redwood BEAMs (standard E105-F300) will annually be produced in Radauti, Romania, and exported to Japan.

Feb 18, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. After the test period the new Schweighofer gluelam plant received the
necessary JAS certificate (Japan Agriculture Standard) and went into operation
in February, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom
Network.
BEAMs are made by glueing together strength-tested lamellas in a
specially required structure, this ensures a homogene stability. They are used
for horizontal applications in traditional Japanese wooden houses.
100,000 cubic metres JAS certified redwood BEAMs (standard E105-F300) will
annually be produced in Radauti and exported to Japan.
At present Holzindustrie Schweighofer is the only company in Eastern Europe, that produces
BEAMs for the Japanese market. For sales in Japan an exclusive
contract was signed with Lamsell Corporation (Meiken).
Schweighofer invested Euro 14 million into the new plant in Radauti, Romania, 75 additional
work places will be created for the long term.
