Dec 21, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Siam Cement PCL, Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate, said on Wednesday it would spend THB 6.6 billion ($161 million) to expand its paper plant to soak up excess pulp capacity. The project, due to be completed by the end of 2007, would add 160 000 tonnes to the annual capacity of the plant in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen. The plant has an annual capacity of 340 000 tonnes of printing and writing paper, and 425 000 tonnes of pulp, Siam Cement said in a statement. The paper business is one of Siam Cement's core operations along with cement and petrochemicals.
