Apr 14, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Slovenia's total value of roundwood purchased in February 2014 amounted to Euro 2.1 million, which is almost 42% lower than in the previous month. The value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs was lower by almost 44%, of wood fuel by about 37%, of pulpwood by 28% and of other industrial roundwood by about 53%, as the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Compared to February 2013, the total value of roundwood purchased in February 2014 was twice as high (unfavourable weather conditions were the main reason for the lower purchase of wood in February 2013). The value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs was twice as high, while the value of wood fuel was 186% higher than in February 2013. Much higher was also the value of purchased pulpwood and other industrial roundwood.
