Further to Sonae Indústria, SGPS, SA’s announcement on 18 November 2005, regarding the joint-venture operation with Tarkett, the company is pleased to announce the clearance of this operation by the European Commission which was notified on Monday, June 12. The purpose of this joint-venture is to produce and sell laminate floorings in Western Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. With this approval, all necessary actions to materialize this joint-venture will now be implemented and the industrial and commercial activity is expected to begin in October 2006. Sonae Indústria is the most important Portuguese group of companies manufacturing wood based products.
