Spanish entrepreneur Juan Luis Arregui Ciarsolo has raised his stake in local pulp and paper company Empresa Nacional de Celulosa SA (Ence) to 10.012% from 8.561%, according to data of the Spanish stock market regulator CNMV. Upon the completion of the deal, Arregui Ciarsolo owns indirectly 3.4 million Ence shares with an estimated value of Euro 88.2 million. Arregui Ciarsolo is one of the founders of Spanish wind energy and aeronautical engineering company Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA. Ence posted a Euro 49.6 million net profit for the first nine months of 2005, up 50% year-on-year. Ence is an Iberian and American integral wood-transforming forest company. Within the European macro-sector of Forest-Based Industries, ENCE's business is developed following the parameters of environmental sustainability and the maximum ecological performance for its products. ENCE is the number one owner of Eucalypt timberland in Europe as well as being the leading producer in Europe and number two in the world of eucalyptus-based pulp.
