Aug 30, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. TietoEnator has been commissioned to develop and harmonize the information and quality systems for Holmen Paper and Iggesund Paperboard at the mills in Hallstavik, Wargön and Workington. The project is an extension of a multi-year, ongoing cooperation between TietoEnator and Holmen Paper. The project is expected to run for a year and a half. "In practice, this is a continuation of the work we initiated at the Holmen paper mill in Madrid a couple of years ago and that continued with the Braviken mill," says Ulf Sandlund, vice president, Nordic sales, TietoEnator Forest. "We will now ensure that all the other mills obtain the same system as well, which means that the same reports can be printed at all mills. It will also be easier for the mills to exchange ideas and solutions since the systems will be tightly integrated. " Holmen Paper's mills Hallstavik and Wargön, as well as Iggesund Paperboard's mill Workington, have chosen to upgrade the existing MOPS systems (millwide and optimization system) to the latest version of TietoEnator's sales and production management solution for the pulp, paper, board and tissue industries, TIPS (TietoEnator Integrated Paper Solution). Through the upgrade, the mills obtain access to new functionalities that makes it possible to coordinate and share information with the mills in Braviken and Madrid. In addition, the existing system environment will be upgraded. The Mill Information System (MIS) handles process and product information in real time and has automatic detection of production losses, quality systems for pulp and paper production, analysis functions and electronic log functions.
