Rock veterans Status Quo are performing a series of gigs at forest venues in June 2003 - including Dalby Forest, near Pickering. The Quo will be joining Jools Holland in a weekend of music on 21/22 June in the 8,600-acre North Yorkshire woodland. Organised by the Forestry Commission, the tour takes in four other rustic venues and will be a new experience for the band and their fans alike. Guitarist Francis Rossi said: "Playing in the middle of a wonderful forest will be a unique experience - both for us and the fans!" The commission's North York Moors District spokesman, Peter Green, said: "Last year's concerts with Jools Holland and Pulp were truly spectacular. Jools is back by popular demand for another boogie while the legendary status of Quo and their epic stage show will ensure a fantastic spectacle."
