USA: Western lumber production up 7.8% through August

Oct 07, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Western U.S. lumber production through August totaled 8.064 billion board feet, up 7.8% from the January-August 2010 total, as Random Lengths reported.
Production through August in the Coast region was up 8.2% compared to the first eight months of 2010. Inland production was up 7.3%, and output in the California Redwood region rose 5.1%.
For the month of August, production in the West totaled 1.125 billion board feet, up 17.2% from July and 16.0% from the August 2010 total.
