Sep 27, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. U.S. industry consumption of recovered paper was 2.71 million tons in August 2010, down 1% from last month’s levels. However, consumption in August was 14% higher than in the same month last year. The U.S. consumed 9% more recovered paper in the first 8 months of 2010 than during the same period last year, the American Forest & Paper Association said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. U.S. exports of recovered paper were up 5% in July compared to June. Year-to-date exports of recovered paper are 2% lower than during the same months last year. The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing pulp, paper, packaging and wood products manufacturers, and forest landowners.
