Jun 22, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, June 20, voted in favour of removing the ban on the export of timber by Liberia, which has suffered a lot from a long-running civil war, Xinhua reported.
A resolution passed unanimously by the 15-nation council said the body decided not to renew the measure that "obligates (U.N.) member states to prevent the import into their territories of all round log and timber products originating in Liberia."
