Kharitonov was born on March, 1 1967 in Novodvinsk, Arkhangelsk region. 1984 – 1992 studied in Leningrad S.O. Makarov naval college, specialization: vessel nuclear engines electricity engineer (enlisted in the army for 2 years during his studies, served in the Air Force in Zabaikalsky military district). 1992 – 1997 worked as electricity engineer on long voyage ships from Murmansk and Novorossyisk. Since 1997 Vadim Kharitonov has been in North-West Timber Industry Company.
