Jan 29, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Tom Barnes has assumed the role of Managing Director at Vastern Timber in a move which sees the family owned company adopt a stronger and more formal management structure ready for anticipated growth, as TimberWeb reported.

“These are exciting times for Vastern Timber and the UK timber industry,” explains Tom Barnes. “We have had a very positive year as a business and we are confident that we have a strong strategy in place for 2015 and beyond.

“Signals from the UK construction market are very positive and we continue to see an ever increasing interest in domestically grown timber products on the back of campaigns such as ‘Wood for Good’ and ‘Grown In Britain’.

“To support the further growth of the business we have instigated a more formal management structure. This will allow me to concentrate on developing the business both through attracting new customers as well as developing our product range in line with the increasing demand for modified and engineered timber products.”
