Vietnam's wood industry sees 29% export revenue increase

Jun 23, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Vietnam has so far this year earned $778 million from woodwork exports, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly 29%, Asia Pulse reported.
Of the total, exports of handicraft articles made of rattan, bamboo and sedge fetched $79 million, 7.6% over the previous year's corresponding period.
Vietnam's wood products now rank first in EU countries' imports, including the UK, France, Germany and Spain, said the Vietnam Timber and Forestry Products Association.
