Jun 30, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Wausau Paper announced on Wednesday that it has initiated a study to determine the feasibility of increasing tissue production capacity at its mill in Middletown, Ohio. The study, expected to be completed by the end of 2005, will include in its scope the potential installation of a new machine and support equipment at the Middletown site.
"We continue to be very pleased with the strong and profitable growth of our towel and tissue business segment," stated Thomas J. Howatt, president and CEO. "Capacity optimization projects and operating efficiency gains have allowed us to substantially increase production at Middletown in recent years, but have brought existing equipment to its practical limit. A capacity expansion at Middletown represents one of the potential alternatives to ensure that our strong growth continues."
Wausau Paper produces fine printing and writing papers, technical specialty papers, and "away-from-home" towel and tissue products.
