Marvin Cooper stepped down as senior vice president of cellulose fibers, paper, containerboard manufacturing and engineering effective October 2, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In August, Weyerhaeuser said it would combine its fine paper business and related assets with Domtar Inc. Mr. Cooper will become COO of the new company when it launches early next year, a spokesman for the Federal Way, Washington-based company said late Thursday.
Shares of Weyerhaeuser rose $0.07 to $61.26 in Friday morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, while Domtar dipped $0.1 to $5.99.
