The data was announced by State Department of Timber Sector Affairs. The amount of artificial forestries increased 1,976 within the 1st quarter in 2004. Chinese volunteers participated in the project planting 829 thousand trees. However in certain regions the planting is troubles by continuous draughts. Governmental working groups were sent to 16 provinces in order to boost reforestation works. State Department of Timber Sector Affairs Chzu Leke said Chines government is constantly boosting the efficiency of reforestation by making scientific planning, spreading advanced technologies and training the staff.
