Oct 18, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. 3 workers died on Arkhangelsky pulp and paper enterprise. The accident occurred in the 2nd line of caustization and regeneration workshop, Arkhangelsky spokesperson told Lesprom.ru. Welder Nikolai Illy (b. 1981), repairs mechanic Fyodor Gerasimov (b. 1984) and repairs mechanic Alexey Serdyukov (b. 1972) were performing repairs in the stopped and cooled down furnace N 1. After lunch the workers continued the repairs in the furnace where they were found dead shortly after. The death of the 3 workers occurred between 1-2 PM (GMT+4). A special investigation commission was set up to inquire into the deaths of the workers.
