Aug 27, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Officials representing the unionized workers at AbitibiBowater's mill in Thunder Bay, Ontario met with the company in Ottawa, as reported by ForestTalk. A CEP spokesperson said the discussion helped establish a timetable for talks on a new pattern agreement for mills in eastern Canada. The talks will begin on October 26th. Contract talks will likely move ahead independently from an agreement reached last week between the company and its Thunder Bay workers. Those workers, members of Local 39, are scheduled to vote on contract amendments later this month.
