Belarussian GDP grows 3% y-on-y in Jan-Aug
Industrial production in the eight months rose 4.3% year-on-year in constant prices to 9.363 trillion rubles. Growth measured 10.9% in the food industry, 10.8% in engineering and metalwork, 7.8% in the iron and steel industry, 4.5% in chemicals and petrochemicals, 3.5% in forestry, timber processing and pulp-and- paper, 3.2% in construction materials, and 2.4% in the fuel industry.
MINSK.(Interfax) - Belarussian GDP grew 3% year-on-year in constant prices in the first eight months of this year and measured 10 trillion Belarussian rubles, the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis told Interfax. Gross value-added in industry amounted to 30.1% of GDP, in agriculture 9.2%, construction 5.3%, transport and communications 10.8%, and trade and catering 8.9%.
