Mar 02, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. CVG Proforca and Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) have decided in favor of Dieffenbacher as general supplier for an OSB plant to be built in Chaguaramas, Monagas, Venezuela. CVG Proforca owns approximately 460 000 hectare of forest, which are sustainable managed. Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) is the largest Venezuelan oil exploration, production and refining company and consequently the largest exporter of the country. These companies joined together to turn the huge amount of wood into a benefit for the population of this region. In addition to the OSB plant, six saw mills and sixty carpenter shops will be built in the same region to realize the complete housing program. Consulting experience in plant construction over many years and excellent competence in the field of OSB production were the key items to convince the customer to decide on Dieffenbacher. Seller's scope of supply starts with the debarking of logs and ends with the cut-to-size system for the OSB boards. In addition to the mechanical and pneumatic transportation systems, all the plant components, including complete energy system, glue system, and all further auxiliaries, which are necessary for such a production plant will be provided by Dieffenbacher. The OSB plant will be designed to produce 200 000 cubic meters per annum in the first stage and at any time it is designed to double the plant capacity without longer production interruptions. The thickness range of the produced boards will be from 11 to 38 mm, which are the most common thicknesses for home construction. Assembly will start beginning of 2008, production will begin second half of 2008. Dieffenbacher is an internationally active group of companies that develops and manufactures press systems and complete production systems for the wood panel industry, the automotive and components industries.
