Apr 29, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Domtar Corp. has made a $750,000 contribution to the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) Foundation for Paper-Based Communications. According to EMA, this brings Domtar's total contribution to the organization to $1 million.
Half of the contribution is earmarked to the newly established Environmental Initiative Fund. Gifts to this dedicated fund will help to educate consumers and mailers about environmental initiatives within the envelope industry, to conduct research to solidify the industry's perspective on environmental issues, and to promote the industry's efforts for a clean environment, EMA said.
"We are pleased to support the EMA Foundation, whose core values are consistent with those of Domtar," said Raymond Royer, president and CEO of Domtar. "With this contribution, we acknowledge and support the fine work the EMA Foundation has done, proactively addressing issues that impact our industry."
The Envelope Manufacturers Association Foundation supports the paper-based communications industry by designing and implementing a key research and education agenda for companies in the envelope industry and the customers they serve.
Domtar Corporation is the largest integrated producer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America and the second largest in the world based on production capacity, and is also a manufacturer of papergrade pulp.
