May 28, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Europac has become Europe's fifth largest producer of corrugated case material. The company announced that it had completed the takeover of two subsidiaries from Otor on 26 May, Euwid pulp and paper reported. Otor Papeterie de Rouen (OPR) and Otor Cartonnerie de Rouen (OCR) changed hands to the Spanish group for approximately Euro 76 million. Otor has committed to purchasing a minimum volume of at least 57,500 tons of paper from Europac over the next five years as part of the transaction, which will raise Europac's capacity to 860,000 tpy. OPR specialises in the production of lightweight fluting and currently manufactures around 220,000 tons of paper each year on a single paper machine. OCR produces 35,000 tons of heavy corrugated board for industrial customers.
