Jan 24, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. French paper and packaging company Groupe Gascogne reported a 3.1% decline in 2005 sales to 603 million euros ($738 million) on Tuesday as a weak economic climate and price pressure weighed on revenues. Fourth-quarter sales eased 0.7% to 149 million euros, although this represented an improvement from the previous quarters, the statement said. Gascogne said poor economic conditions, one-time items and a group restructuring would weigh on 2005 earnings. However, it added it was confident that 2006 would see the first benefits of the restructuring.
