Jan 24, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Irving Woodlands, LLC has developed a long-term vision for the FishRiver chain of lakes (LongLake, MudLake, CrossLake, and SquareLake) in northern Aroostook County, Maine. It addresses
ecological resources, working forests, recreation, economic development, and
regional planning around the lakes, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
In its concept plan, Irving Woodlands, LLC proposes to re-zone 51,000
acres to better protect and manage the existing uses of the region and its
resources. The plan will be in effect for 30 years and establish a sustainable
framework for both growth and conservation. More than 96 percent of the plan
provides significant long-term protection from development - including over
14,600 acres in a permanent conservation easement and 33,800 acres in
restrictive zoning.
