Oct 30, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Model Obaly Opava in cooperation with its affiliated plant in Weinfelden, Switzerland, and the Geberit company from Germany has developed a new packaging sealing system, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

This simple, yet ingenious and highly efficient solution is applied to a packaging without affecting its construction. A very strong unique permanent adhesive is applied to the flaps of a box or any other parts used to close and seal the packaging. The adhesive is then covered with a special silicone layer which prevents other than the desired parts from being glued by the adhesive and at the same time prevents contamination of the permanent adhesive with dust and other impurities which could impair its sealing ability. The adhesive layer may be applied in a wide range of different widths, making it possible to select the optimal solution for boxes with different strength requirements and allowing cost optimization.

The only but crucial difference compared to the traditional sealing techniques is that after the packaging has been filled, the covering tape is simply removed and the box is firmly sealed with the permanent adhesive by closing the packaging in the standard manner. This ingenious technique of adhesive application bypasses the need for the step that would otherwise need to follow – reinforcing the seal with an adhesive tape, binding the packaging with a string or fixating the sealed packaging in another way.
