Nov 6, 2003. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Niznekurgansky timber-processing mill owned by Aldanzololes (affiliated to Aldanzoloto) will be launched on November, 7, company public-affairs told Lesprom.ru. The mill’s production capacity will allow to produce 120-150 thousand cub m/yr of commercial timber, 60 thousand cub m of saw-timber and 17 thousand cub m of semi-finished timber products. Company’s basic production will include dry saw-timber manufactured under export standards, shaven and profile products, glued boards for furniture and joiner’s production, glued three-layer bars for window production, bars for building and other products and semi-finished products of larch and pine. The project will create 200-250 more jobs in Aldan-region, including 150 jobs in timber-production and 100 jobs in timber-felling sector. Nizhnekurgansky timber-processing mill’s forestries of 180 thousand hectares total square, 50,5 thousand operation square and operational stores of 7,9 million cub m of timber are situated in Aldan and Tommot-regions. The timber stores and the constitution of forestries allow to provide production for export to Western Europe. The production territory allow to get the whole use of raw-materials all the year round and to dispatch production for export by railway, which differs the enterprise from the rest in Saha republic (Yakutia region). German Michael Weinig company supplied timber processing equipment to Nizhekutgansky, Eisenmann Maschinenbau supplied dryers, Moeringer supplied saw-timber equipment and Nestro supplied the boiler facility. The equipment was purchased on financial leasing terms. The purchase agreement total cost is 17,6 million euro. The leasing period is 4 years. The project investor is Gazprombank commercial bank. The mill construction began in December 2002. By November, 1 2003 construction and assembling works cost made 79,7 million rubles, contractor firms’ work was estimated at 70 million rubles.
