Papierfabrik Scheufelen plans to shut one paper machine
The declining consumption of graphic paper is forcing Papierfabrik Scheufelen to reduce its capacity from 300,000 tons to 140,000 tons annually. One paper machine and its associated equipment will be idled in the near future.

Scheufelen to reduce its capacity from 300,000 tons to 140,000 tons annually. One
paper machine and its associated equipment will be idled in the near future, as
the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
In the meantime, all existing supply and other commitments will be
honoured, and Papierfabrik Scheufelen and LIG are looking forward to working in
close collaboration with all stakeholders with a view to achieving a longterm
sustainable business plan for the Company.
Papierfabrik Scheufelen belongs to the Paper Excellence Group which is
based in the Netherlands. Scheufelen’s
strategy is to increase the share of premium and high end papers and extend the
leading market position of coated premium papers globally.
