Sep 21, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. The Södra Cell Mönsterås pulp mill restarted production in early September following the stoppage caused by the major fire that broke out on 12 August. The startup is taking place using a number of provisional solutions which are undergoing improvement by stages. It has been possible to gradually increase average production, and the mill is now operating at its target speed, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. "The steady operation that has been achieved in a relatively short time has been implemented thanks to the enormous commitment of staff and all subcontractors taken on following the fire," said Carsten Wieger, site manager for Södra Cell Mönsterås. As well as working as quickly as possible to introduce and improve provisional operating solutions, work is in progress to permanently replace everything that was destroyed in the fire.
