Jul 22, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Spanish plywood manufacturer Garnica has officially opened its Euro12.2 million new factory, TTJ reported. The 11,500 square metres factory has a production capacity of 60,000 cubic metres per year, using poplar and other tropical wood species. The investment will boost the Garnica group’s capacity to 200,000 cubic metres per year. Garnica decided to invest in a new factory because its existing Banos de Rio Tobia facility was located in an urban area which didn’t allow for any further expansion and the production processes were becoming old. The new plant has been built on the outskirts of the village, allowing for future developments. It allows the group to improve its product range, incorporating jumbo size plywood such as 3100x1530, 3100x1850mm and 3100x1350mm in poplar.
