May 19, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. VIDA is increasing its production capacity with a substantial investment in new kilns. The SEK 65 million ($10.3 million) spend covers ground and foundation work, and four new Valutec kilns with a total capacity of 185,000 cubic metres per year, as TTJ reported.
The new kilns, to be operational by the autumn, will mean a better throughput and more consistent quality in VIDA’s production and will be installed at sawmills in Alvesta, Hestra, Hästveda and Vislanda, Sweden.
The investment is mainly for new capacity, although some was also for replacing older equipment.
