Increase of raw timber export duties should contribute to development of domestic wood processing, chairman of the committee of the regional council on agricultural policy, nature management and ecology Guennadiy Ivanov said on January 10. Amur region is among regions with rich forest fund. At present share of wood processing in forest industry production in Priamurje doesn’t exceed 5%. Almost 99.9% of roundwood is exported and proceeds are the main source of investments in enterprises of timber processing complex.
