Jan 05, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. After 80 years, Anderson Tully Company is shutting down its Mill D in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and now 55 employees are now jobless, Lesprom Network informed according to Wjtv.
The company says expanding another facility, which recently underwent an $8 million upgrade, and the bad economy has forced it to close the mill. The company's other Vicksburg facility will take on Mill D's operations.
According to Richard Wilkerson, Anderson Tully’s executive vice president, the Mill D property will now be used to store timber off-loaded from barges on the Yazoo Diversion Canal.
