Aurora Empowerment Systems had acquired Zambian timber business Redwood Timber Merchants for R93.5 million, the South African-owned emerging market investment company reported, according to a Zambian paper, Business Report. Redwood is one of the largest forestry and sawmill operations in the southern hemisphere with many pine and hardwood forest concessions. Aurora will nominate JSE-listed Cenmag Holdings as the purchaser of Redwood after its takeover of Cenmag recently became unconditional.
