Dec 19, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Since its inception in 2008, BM Scandinavia, SCA Timber’s unit for the supply of solid-wood products to the Scandinavian builders merchants sector, has gradually increased its volume and will establish a new distribution platform in Sundsvall for the Swedish market at year-end, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
As a result of the increasing growth in business volumes, the operations will be further specialised through the establishment of a new distribution platform with a broad and adapted product range supplemented with production resources and warehousing for the Swedish builders merchants sector.
Operations will be conducted at appropriately designed premises that are highly suitable for the manufacture of solid-wood products for the Swedish building materials range and the localisation of the facility next to Tunadal sawmill in Sundsvall will provide the optimal conditions for distribution and ensure the efficient supply of raw materials.
“It feels secure to have a strong market unit next to Tunadal sawmill as we now embark on a gradual expansion of production,” says Ville Huittinen, Sawmill Manager at Tunadal.
“For BM Scandinavia, the establishment marks a major step forward and provides strength to continue our positive development,” says Urban Wiklund, Manager of BM Scandinavia.
BM Scandinavian’s business also includes the distribution platform in Stugun for supplying the Norwegian builders merchants sector and a production unit at Vilhelmina sawmill.
