Bergvik Skog acquires 1,800 hectares of forest in Latvia from Skogssällskapet. For both parties, the deal entails rationalization and concentration of forest holdings in Latvia.

Skogssällskapet. For both parties, the deal entails rationalization and concentration of
forest holdings in Latvia. Bergvik Skog was
established in Latvia in 2008, after the
transaction holdings include 107,000 hectares in Latvia, as the company said
in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
“We are very
pleased with the completed transaction, Latvia is a good country to
pursue forestry in and there is a steadily growing forest industrial sector,”
says Lars-George Hedlund, CEO of Bergvik Skog SIA.
Bergvik
Skog owns approximately 2.3 million hectares of land in Sweden
and about 0.1 million hectares in
Latvia and is one of Europe's largest private forest owners.
