Canadian lumber production in February declined 14% from the previous month and 31% from February 2008, finishing at 1.4 billion board feet, Statistics Canada said, as Random Lengths informed Lesprom Network. Year-to-date output totaled 3.1 billion board feet, down 27% from last year. Production so far this year in British Columbia, 1.5 billion board feet, trailed last year's pace by 33%. February production in Quebec gained 11% from January, and New Brunswick also gained modestly.
