Aug 04, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Canadian lumber production in May fell 8% from the previous month but finished 22% ahead of the same month in 2009, as Random Lengths reported. Production of 1.8 billion board feet brought the 2010 total to 9.1 billion board feet, 19% ahead of the year-ago pace. At 556 million board feet, Ontario was the only province to trail the year-ago level. Quebec and New Brunswick were the only two provinces to gain from April to May. May output in British Columbia (B.C.) was 895 million board feet, down 14% from April and up 13% from May 2009. Year-to-date through May, B.C. reached 4.7 billion board feet, with 4.2 billion board feet coming from the Interior.
