Dec 01, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Timber frame manufacturer Chandos Timber Engineering has gone into administration with the loss of 170 jobs. The administrator is Cowgill Holloway, as the local source reported. Chandos Timber was founded in May 2000 and reported a turnover of GBP 10 million ($ 16 million) in the year to 31 March 2010. A contributory factor in the collapse was the failure of contractor Rok which is understood to have owed the business about GBP 400,000 ($636,132). The administrator said that prospective purchasers were still looking at buying the assets of the company, including plant, machinery and ongoing contracts.
