Oct 11, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Jia Zhibang, director-general of the China State Forestry Administration, recently stated that China's forest coverage rate has increased to 18.2%. There have already been 9.9 billion volunteers that have planted 47.1 billion trees. Thus, China now has a total man-made preserved forest area of 53 333 328 hectares, and forest coverage ratio of 18.2%.
