Sep 07, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Jiangsu DongDun Wood Industries, a major MDF Producer in P.R. China, confirmed their decision to join the ranks of manufacturers of Thin High Density Fiber Board (THDF). DongDun Company headquarters are situated at Changshu near Shanghai. The Company is well known as one of the biggest MDF producers in the country, with a total of 9 production lines already in operation, all using multi opening presses. The existing plants are predominantly located in the neighboring provinces of Shanghai. The new green field THDF project of subsidiary company Anhui DongDun Wood Based Co., Ltd will be located at a site adjacent to the banks of the mighty Yangtse River near the city of Chizhou in Anhui Province. Thin High Density Fiber Board know-how will be applied at DongDun using the latest state of the art process technology. The equipment order for the core plant sections has been awarded to panel plant supplier Dieffenbacher GmbH + Co. KG of Eppingen, Germany. The core plant package comprises the glue mixing system, a 30 t/hr flash dryer, fiber sifting, and the new generation Dieffenbacher CPS forming and press system of nominal size 8 ft x 26 m, including raw board out feed, cooling and stacking equipment. Dieffenbacher's newly developed thin fiber board Conform forming system features an improved fiber dissolving and mat calibration mechanism for minimum board thickness tolerances and superior surface appearance, even when using a difficult basic raw material. CPS press systems represent the leading edge of Thin High Density Fiber Board production, and with the larger number of new CPS press lines started up in recent years Dieffenbacher is able to draw from a huge pool of information when it comes to adding proven features to advanced dedicated thin board production technology. At the DongDun THDF project the latest CPS press design improvements were implemented, with the emphasis placed on optimising high speed production of thin board. The new Dieffenbacher CPS press infeed design ensures improved compression profile control and protection of steel belts at design speeds of 1,500 mm/sec and above. The forming line has additional new features in the continuous belt prepress for optimum pre compression of thin HDF mats. Additional mat condition sensoring devices are also installed in the forming belt line prior to entering the CPS press. The high speed press outfeed board handling and conveyor systems are of Dieffenbacher design and are partly manufactured in China. Dieffenbacher has been assigned responsibility for overall project planning and coordination of interfaces with other process areas and with other suppliers. Plant electrical control systems and automation will be provided by subsidiary companies of the Dieffenbacher group. The project time schedule foresees initial shipments from Europe to commence in February 2007. Production of the first board is planned for September 2007.
