BRUSSELS, Sept. 11, 2001 (paperloop.com) - FOEX has lowered its PIX price index for the benchmark northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp grade by $1.67/tonne to $450/tonne. The Finnish company also said that the majority of price quotations for bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) pulp were around Euro 440/tonne and $400/tonne. As the dollar strengthened against the euro by 2.3% during the past week, the BHK index expressed in euros increased to Euro 444.40/tonne, but its dollar value slid to $398/tonne.
