"Personnel costs will fall around 15 percent," CEO Sverre Norrgard said, adding that around 135 jobs would be cut and the work of some 175 maintenance workers would be outsourced.
Myllykoski Paper currently employs about 600 people in production and maintenance and nearly 150 administrative staff.
The group is 35-percent owned by Europe's top fine paper maker M-real while privately-held Myllykoski Corp. owns the rest.
Myllykoski Paper produces SC papers and coated LWC papers for rotogravure and offset printing of magazines, catalogues, advertising inserts and brochures. The main market is Europe, but some paper is also exported to the USA, the Far East and Africa.
