Privatization and leasing of the forest areas in Tbilisi and its outskirts will be allowed for sake of improvement of ecology and development of resort and recreation infrastructure. A corresponding project of amendments to the law concerning special protection of the recreation zone and forestry in Tbilisi and its outskirts was presented to the sector economy committee of the Parliament of Georgia by Zurab Dekanoidze, the parliamentary secretary of the president of Georgia on Tuesday. According to the present legislation embedment of status of the forests in Georgia and their leasing was prohibited but the government of Georgia would be authorized to decide over leasing of part of the forestry.
