Dec 23, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Finnish-Estonian company AS Eesti Metsataim will invest Euro 2.8 million to double production in the Baltic region with the State Forest Management Centre planning to increase its share capital of AS Eesti Metsataim by Euro 600,000 to support the investment, as KMS Baltics reported.
Currently, the Baltic region is one of the more prosperous areas for forestry investment in Europe. This is partly down to the increased investment in biomass technologies as the European Union seeks to create more energy from renewable sources.
This trend for increased investment could be set to continue if investments similar to this continue to take off in future.
The plants will help to supply the Estonian state forests with 10% being sent to Fin Forelia OY in Finland.
