Fraser Papers Inc. announced on May 15, 2007 the temporary shutdown of its sawmills located in Juniper and Plaster Rock, New Brunswick beginning May 27, 2007 due to weak market conditions. The company expects these two mills, as well as the company's sawmill in Ashland, Maine which has been shut since March 25, to be shut down for a four week period depending on market conditions. The temporary shutdown of the New Brunswick sawmills affects approximately 350 employees.
